With Spring upon us its the perfect time to refresh your living spaces. My husband and I decided that our master bedroom needed a makeover! We had most of the furniture so it was little finishing touches that needed to be done. I knew that I wanted to change out the light in our room for a bit more of a statement piece, but I didn’t want to spend too much. Enter IKEA, I found the SINNERLIG light pendant and I loved it! I also knew I was going to do a bit of a DIY to make it perfect for our space. Keep reading for my easy IKEA SINNERLING light DIY.

Ikea SINNERLIG Light DIY Supplies

- IKEA SINNERLING Pendent
- Drop cloth- to make sure you don’t get paint everywhere
- Paint Brush
- Paint- we choose Benjamin Moore Dove Wing (it’s the same colour as our walls)
- Water
Instructions
This is a very simple DIY, to start make sure you put the drop cloth down. Unfortunately the light doesn’t come apart so it can get a little tricky to paint parts of the inside. I decided to do a white wash and dilute to paint 1:1 with water and mix well. I did two coats and let it dry about 30min in between coats. Once completely dry go ahead and hang! The nice thing about this light is you can adjust how low it hangs as well. I hope you enjoyed this IKEA SINNERLIG Light DIY. We have a whole IGTV video on this process check it out here!

Hi! Did you guys have trouble getting it flush to the ceiling? We need to shorten our cord/length also and are struggling with how much extra cord has to be in the cup part and the base not staying flush with the ceiling.
