EEEK! Halloween is almost upon us! Halloween is one of my favourite holidays (if you can call it a holiday). To me it feels so magical, like a night where anything could happen. I remember as a kid me and my sister always got dressed up to go trick or treating, we had traditions- we always watched Hocus Pocus of course! Now that I’m an adult and trick or treating is far behind me one of the things I love to do is decorate my home. If you have been following me for a while you know that I love neutrals, Halloween decor can be tacky and cheap looking. So I set about finding some chic neutral Halloween decorations. Harry Potter Haunted Halloween Home Tour
One thing you may not know about me is that I’m a huge Harry Potter fan- when I say huge I mean I grew up reading the books attending every midnight book release and watching every move about 100 times. A few years ago my husband and I went to London and visited the studio where Harry Potter was filmed. The only tattoo I have is a Harry Potter one.
When I think of Halloween I always think of Harry Potter- they go so well together! This year I’m hosting a small Harry Potter Halloween Howler. I added some subtle Harry Potter touches to the decor (if you have watched the movies think Borgin & Burkes and Snapes Potion room). I didn’t want to do the floating candles, I did a different twist on it. If you are thinking of doing a Harry Potter party get sorted into you Hogwarts house HERE so fun and if you have kids they will love it!
Think lots of spiders, black candles, potion bottles and skeletons!
I decorated the mantle with lots of pumpkins, bats, skulls and spider webs. You can even spot Harry’s potion textbook.
I also used my illustrated Harry Potter books as coffee table books, you an also spot Harry’s Hogwarts letter and the Marauders Map.
One of my favourite spots to decorate this year was my shelving unit in my dining room. I did lots of spider webs and potion bottles.
