It’s finally 2021, and if you are anything like me you are so glad that 2020 has come to an end. 2020 was a trying year for many people due to the covid pandemic- lots of people lost their jobs, and loved ones too. I’m looking forward to 2021 and hope that it’s going to be a better year (I think it can only go up from 2020). There is nothing like starting off the new year with an organized space. It can feel overwhelming but don’t worry we have some steps and tips that will make it a breeze!! I don’t know about you but I LOVE a good purge!!

Our Top Tips for Getting Your Space Organized in 2021
Pick a Room
One of the things that can feel overwhelming when trying to get your space organized is thinking about all the things that have to be done. That’s why we suggest picking a room, closest, or even a drawer to start out with. This breaks things down into smaller more manageable tasks.
Keep Donate or Trash
This is a tried and true method that I always use. I set up bins for things that will be trash and donate. When going through items think when was the last time you used this? Is that item in good shape and still works (this can apply to kitchen gadgets and even clothes). For clothes if I haven’t worn it in the past year I usually sell the item or donate it. If you have a lot of stuff to sell check out our post on how to sell on Poshmark!
Use Bins & Containers
One thing that will help to keep you organized is having a place for everything. Having a spot for everything makes it so much easier to keep things tidy on a long term basis. In my pantry I use bins and jars to keep it neat and tidy. Investing in some great organizational stuff is a must!!
Less is More
This is a mantra I live by. It’s very difficult to keep things organized and neat and tidy when your space is overflowing with clutter. This is why I usually do a big purge a couple times a year. People always ask me how I keep my house so tidy, and my answer is I only keep what I need and everything has a place!
Don’t Let Junk Pile Up
This goes hand in hand with the less is more motto. I’m constantly organizing and purging things, this makes it easier on you in the long run.
Make A Schedule
Every Sunday I clean out the fridge, this helps me keep things clean and organized. I also clean out my closet twice a year (spring & fall) by having a schedule this helps break things down into smaller tasks and you stay on top of things.
I hope these tips help you in getting your space organized for the new year!!!
