Bar carts are so 2023- actually they have been on the outs for awhile in the design world. Now don’t get me wrong I still love a good bar cart moment, and if it brings you joy in your home then keep it! But 2024 is the year of the at home coffee station! Keep reading to see at home coffee station styling tips- your go to cuppa just got an upgrade!
A good morning routine is something that I have been trying to cultivate for awhile, and of course a great cup of coffee is a part of that routine. With so many different options- pour-over set, espresso machine, Aeropress, or family-size pot, your kitchen should have a designated place for your favourite moment of the morning.
With the state of the economy people are looking to cut expenses, and one of the first things to go is the Starbucks 8$ latte. Why waste all that money when you can make amazing coffee at home. Plus you can stay in your PJ’s and enjoy, which in my mind is a bonus.
So about a month ago our Keurig broke, which is when me and my husband had a week long argument about which coffee machine to get. The conundrum was he wanted to get another Keurig and prefers a certain type of pod that Nespresso didn’t carry. I wanted to make more types of coffee’s like lattes and espresso. Plus I don’t love the way the Keurig looks on my counter and I don’t think it makes the best coffee. But I wouldn’t say I’m a coffee connoisseur so I didn’t want to spend a ton on something like the Breville Barista machine. I wanted something simple.
We finally ended up getting two machines because we couldn’t agree. We got a Ninja one which can use pods or coffee grounds, it can also make iced coffees. And then I ended up getting a Nespresso machine.
Choosing a Nespresso Machine
I actually did a lot of research before purchasing a Nespresso, I knew that I wanted to make latte’s and other coffee’s but I also knew that I wanted a pod system, something that was going to be easy.
First thing to know is Nespresso has two different lines- the Original collection and the Vertuo collection. And there are distinct differences between the two.
The Vertuo collection has 4-5 cup sizes with a wide range of models, the one thing to note about it is they only take Nespresso pods which are a bit pricier. The original line only has two cup sizes- espresso & lingo, but with these models you can buy way more pods for them not just the Nespresso ones. This is one of the main reasons that I got Nespresso Pixie with the milk Aeroccino. Eventually I would love to get the Nespresso Creatista.
Now that we had our coffee machines it was time to style our at home coffee station (which of course was my favourite part). One of my favourite hobbies is interior styling and of course I turned to Pinterest for some inspo on my home coffee station styling.

Of course when your browse Pinterest or follow designers they are usually huge kitchens that they are styling.
